OGL/2024/1451/0918 in the regulator’s records
We pulled the certificate directly from the regulator’s verification site, cert.cga.cw. It names stake.com, the operator Medium Rare N.V. (company number 145353) and license OGL/2024/1451/0918, granted on 9 June 2025, with the status Active. Clause 1.1 of the terms quotes the same number, and the footer gives the Seru Loraweg address in Curaçao. For a player that is the useful part: the domain, the company and the permit all match.
Payment agents and the official mirror list
Payments may run through two Cypriot subsidiaries, Medium Rare Limited and MRS Tech Ltd, so a bank statement can show a different name. Clause 9.1 keeps customer money in separate accounts and wallets. Access can be cut by region or internet provider, and fake copies exist, so the help centre names four official mirror sites: playstake.club, .info, .io and .casino.
Provable fairness, and a house edge that can move
The in-house Originals, such as Mines, Dice, Limbo and Plinko, carry a provably fair label: every round’s outcome is hashed, and you can check it on the site and through a third-party tool instead of relying on the random number generator alone. Stake Casino in Canada: Ontario out, other provinces in
The prohibited list in clause 14.3 runs from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, and Ontario is the only Canadian entry. No other province or territory appears on it, so this review is for them; an Ontario review would have to wait until the brand launches under that province’s own rules. The operator does not serve the iGaming Ontario market yet; stake.ca is only a holding page that announces a launch there in 2026. Clause 14.4 treats a VPN or proxy used to hide your location as a breach of the terms, so an Ontario resident cannot simply route around the block.
Clause 4.4 asks for 18 or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher. Players in Canada living in a province that sets 19 therefore need to be 19.
The Stake Casino welcome bonus is rakeback, not a match
New players get no match bonus on the first deposit. Stake’s help centre describes the welcome bonus as instant access to rakeback, a reward that otherwise starts only at the Bronze level of the loyalty club. It is unlocked with an affiliate code, and the code has to be entered on the offers page in your account within 24 hours of opening it. Miss the window and the form closes, although players who signed up through a partner’s code can still ask live chat for help.
What 3.5% of the house edge is worth
The rate is 3.5% of the house edge on every bet, paid whether you win or lose. The help page’s own example: 1 BTC wagered on a game with a 2% edge returns 0.0007 BTC. In Canadian dollars, C$1,000 of spins on a slot with a 4% edge (a 96% RTP) carries C$40 of expected loss, and the refund is C$1.40 of it. Deposits and withdrawals in CAD run through third-party services: the online banking flow sends you to your own bank’s login, and payouts arrive as an email transfer from Payper Inc. that you accept with a secret answer sent in a second message. Withdrawal options follow the deposit: card payouts go only to a card already used to pay in. For coins, the USDT minimum is 2.5 with a 1 USDT fee, and the casino also has a built-in swap from one coin to another. The operator may add fees at its discretion, and any method fee is shown in the cashier.
Before the first payout: wager the deposit once, then allow three business days
